There are two ways organisations can access Direct Debit, either as a direct or indirect submitter.
To submit directly to Bacs via a Direct Debit Bureau or Direct Debit software, you will need a
Service User Number (SUN) from your bank.
The bank will consider your application in relation to your organisation's ability to meet the Direct Debit scheme requirements. Please be aware that this process may take months, as the bank needs to assess your internal resource capability and turnover.
If you are approved, you will need to ensure you have the internal knowledge and systems to collect, store and submit Direct Debits to Bacs accurately and compliantly.
